Challenge

Managing operating costs: As Madonna University has grown over the years, their Livonia campus has expanded to accommodate a student body of 3000.  Recent additions have included a Welcome Center and another residence hall.  These exciting developments have been accompanied by increases to their energy needs and budget.

Solution

The long-term cost savings with Dillon Energy, on the Transportation Gas and Electric Choice programs, has continued to allow Madonna University to devote those resources to expand their campus to better support their mission.

Results

Transportation Gas has provided savings and budget certainty, while accommodating the new facilities and their usage needs.  Electric savings over the past three years has averaged just under $100,000 annually (20-30%).

“Dillon Energy stays in touch to ensure we are aware of market trends and issues that require our attention.  It is this personal touch that helps us maximize savings for Madonna University.  Saving money on our energy budget has enabled us to direct the savings toward programs that improve the educational experience for Madonna students, staff, and faculty.”
